Awards season is upon us and fashionistas everywhere are likely to be glued to their televisions in the hope of sneaking a peek at some of the season’s hottest styles.

On Sunday night, they got exactly what they were hoping for if they watched the 18th annual SAG (Screen Actors Guild Awards). The awards ceremony may have left something to be desired, but the fashion walking down the red carpet was anything but a bore! We saw some adventurous risk-taking and some chic classiness.

Here are five of the best:

•	Jessica Lange – Decked out in David Meister, this award-winning actress stunned and shimmered through the night. Her tousled hair (did she use a ghd for those flicks and waves?) was the perfect finishing touch.

•	Michelle Williams – As always, this beauty turned heads in a boldly coloured Valentino. It was a gorgeous gown, with just enough originality to fit the actress’ unique style.

•	Jayma Mays – We don’t hear enough about this Glee actress. Her mousy character on the show has nothing on the star we saw at the SAG awards wearing Reem Acra.

•	Kyra Sedgwick – Bold and beautiful in a red-hot gown from Emilio Pucci just has this actress looking better with age – like a fine red wine.

•	Emma Stone – Pulling off Alexander McQueen like no other, the risk Stone took wearing the black midi-length dress actually paid off.

Did you watch the awards? Let us know who made your Best Dressed list.

If you ask a die-hard ghd enthusiast “What straighteners ar as good as ghd?” you’ll be hard-pressed to get a response other than “ghd stylers are the best!” (and a couple of sideways looks, to boot!)

So yes, when you use a ghd styler, you really do have a good hair day – after all, that’s where the company gets its name. (If you haven’t figured it out “ghd” stands for “good hair day”) When you buy a ghd styler, you are investing in a sound product.

The plates of ghd straighteners are made of aluminium, coated with ceramic. Aluminium has really strong heat conducting properties, which makes it ideal for a hair styling tool. The advanced ceramic coating helps the styler run smoothly through your hair thus reducing the risk of burning and breakage.

With any ghd styler you will be able to achieve that highly desired look – anything from flicks and waves to curls to super sleek straight locks can be achieved with a ghd. So, why would you want to choose any other brand?

The truth is, there are a lot of ceramic straighteners out there. Some aren’t nearly as good as the ghd line while others come in a close second. As you shop around, you are likely to come across hair straighteners from many different manufacturers such as Chi, Tresemme, Sedu, Solia and Conair.

However, don’t be fooled! There is only one ghd styler!

If you are like most fashionistas, the chances are you have a closet full of chic black clothes.

If you are like most fashionistas, the chances are you have a closet full of chic black clothes. There’s nothing wrong with wearing neutrals almost exclusively. If your staples are white, black, grey, and beige you really can’t go wrong. However, a little colour in the closet can go a long way.

The bright red blouse or lavender dress can give your look that “pop” that it needs. The secret is finding a colour that suits you. Think about your hair colour (and don’t forget to style it with your ghd straightener!) as well as your eyes and you’ll be on your way.

Here’s a quick guide to help you get started.

Silver or Grey Hair – Dark shades will look best but you can also pull off a bright pink. If you wear black, go for a fabric that has a little sheen to reflect the light off your face and brighten it up.

Brown Hair – Contrast is usually key. So if you have dark brown hair and coffee-coloured skin, go for colours that will complement both. Navy blue or purple should do the trick. If you’ve got olive skin, choose yellows and golds.

Red Hair – If you’re a natural redhead and have fair skin, shades of white and off-white can go far. Cool reds work great with cool greens while warm reds (copper) work with rich, deep blues.

Blonde – The staple is navy blue, but why bother? A blue-violet hue works well to refresh cool blondes. If you have a warmer tone, red-violets take it to another level.

Black Hair – If you have glossy black hair and fair skin, go for ultra-rich jewel tones such as emerald green, sapphire blue and amethyst.

Are you a guy in search of that perfect hair styling tool? You already know that the ghd styler is probably the best, but do you know where to get men’s ghd’s in Bristol?

Are you a guy in search of that perfect hair styling tool? You already know that the ghd styler is probably the best, but do you know where to get men’s ghd’s in Bristol?

The first thing you really need to remember is that you must buy your ghd styler – for men or women – from an authorised retailer or salon. The official ghd website can help you determine where the authorised salons and retailers are in your area, including Bristol.

We did a quick search for you, using the company’s official salon locator and came up with these solutions:

•	Gaddis Hair & Beauty
•	Coco Cheno Hair & Nail Salon
•	Regis Hairstylists
•	Sean Hanna LTD
•	Guy Fawkes Hair Salon
•	Me:Me
•	U Hairdressing
•	Bojo Brown

Just remember to give the salon a call before you head over to make sure that they have the particular men’s ghd styler you have in mind.

If you don’t want to trek out to a salon or store, why not make the purchase online? Buying is easy, as ghd sells their stylers directly on their website. Additionally, the company also has a tool to indicate which websites are also authorised.

However, it is important that you take care in purchasing your styler online – beware of fakes! The fake ghd stylers for men and women are virtually impossible to spot and look just like their genuine counterparts.

Since we are officially well into winter, one of the must-have accessories for every serious fashionista is the winter hat. A good winter hat will help keep you warm. A great winter hat will look fabulous doing it!

We know that sometimes in the cold winter months, you just won’t have time to break out your ghd styler, so here are some ways to rock that winter hat and keep your head warm at the same time!

•	Classic black beret – this topper will give you a Parisian look. Add it to an offbeat trench coat and opaque tights to go all the way – “wow!”

•	Whimsical knits – add a touch of whimsy with a playful knit cap. This is great for a day out on the sled.

•	Turban topper – if you want a touch of exotic class, add a knitted turban to your daywear, such as jeans and a T-shirt.

•	Change it up – if you’ve got an all-black evening look, why not change things up by adding a pure white hat?

•	Don’t forget the cloche – you can’t go wrong with a felt or wool cloche. Chunky knits or sleek silks are its perfect match.

•	Brighten Your Day – if you prefer grey or black coats, why not give your style a buzz with a neon-hued topper?

If we didn’t include your favourite hat, not to worry! When it comes to winter hats, wear what you like. Don’t be afraid to be bold, especially throughout the drab, cold winter.

Do you have afro hair? If so, one of the main questions you might want to ask is “What products do you recommend that should be put on afro hair before using a ghd on it?” So, what is the answer, exactly?

First of all, one of the biggest myths associated with those who use flat irons and who have afro hair is that the best ceramic styler for afro hair should be different to the normal ones available on the market. This is simply just not true.

Basically, you can use any flat iron on afro hair – so any of the ghd stylers will work for you. It all comes down to how you treat your hair before styling it with the flat iron. As afro hair tends to be pretty coarse, it is also the most porous. That means it loses moisture more easily than other types of hair and can be damaged from heat styling quite easily.

Before you use any heated styler on afro hair, it is extremely important to use moisturizing conditioners. It is also important to do so right after you style your hair. It is also advisable to avoid shine-enhancing products that many black women normally tend to use. These types of products can burn or even fry when they come into contact with the styler.

If you don’t know who Christy Turlington is, you may as well have been living under a rock for the last decade or two. She has some of the longest legs known to the fashion world and they are perfect for the micro-mini or a super-high slit.

Recently, Turlington (a California native) celebrated her 43rd birthday, but she doesn’t look much different than she did rocking the runway 20 years ago. Today, although she still models, she is also a well-known philanthropist and jewellery designer. Other jobs she’s done over the years include filmmaker, author, public health student and yogi. She has never called herself a model.

As she has got older, she still has what it takes to garner lots of “oohs” and “ahhs” from anyone she passes by, but she keeps it classy and age-appropriate. Sure, there is the occasional low-cut dress, but most of her hemlines are now below the knee. After all, she is a mum albeit a sexy mum at that. (She has two children with her husband, Ed Burns.)

Known for her simplicity and classic beauty, Turlington will most likely never be out of the public eye. She’s just too drop-dead gorgeous. Whether she’s out on the town and dressed to the nines sporting super-sleek hair (probably achieved with her ghd styler) or at the cinema with her kids in jeans and a T-shirt, Turlington knows how to work it; that’s for sure.

Let’s face it; the cable on your ghd styler probably takes a beating. So, how to replace ghd cable may be on your list of things you might want to know.

The first thing you’ll want to remember is that if your ghd styler is still under warranty, you should send the tool back to the company so that they can repair it for you. If it is not under warranty, you can still send it back to ghd but they will most likely charge you for the parts and labour.

So, the longer you have your straightener, the better the chance you might need to replace the cable at some point. Sometimes, even on the highest quality ghd straighteners, the cable can short out or break. This can be due to improper use or simply major wear and tear.

You’ll know when the cable is starting to fail because the power light will start to blink or flash when you move the cable. This is never a good sign. It is not a good idea to wait very long once you notice this. If you do wait too long to replace a faulty ghd cable, you will run the risk of burning your hair or getting an electric shock!

Instead of having to replace your cable right away, there are ways to actually prolong its life. Here’s how:

•	Don’t wrap your cable around the styler when you store it.

•	Never tug or pull on the cable when unplugging it from the wall.

•	If the cable isn’t long enough, get an extension lead rather than pulling or stretching it.

Spain’s Princess Letizia is always pushing the envelope – of fashion. This past autumn she stepped out in sexy snakeskin shoes. As the winter approached, the regal royal gave us a flash of bright orange. Most recently, she’s sported a new haircut.

The new “do” is sexy, simple and very chic. We wouldn’t expect anything less from Princess Letizia, who is always ready to share her fashion sense with the world. The one thing we can’t figure out is which ghd styler she probably uses. What do you think?

Her new hairdo is great, to say the least, but it works perfectly when combined with her signature outfit – a solid colour suit (pants or skirt, depending on her mood – and the weather) with some killer high heels and really fun accessories. Usually, her go-to accessory is an animal print bag or some sexy snakeskin stilettos, but sometimes she surprises us with bright solid colours.

A lot of you fashionistas out there could learn a lesson or two from Princess Letizia. Just by watching her style evolution, it is made apparent that you don’t need to overdo it. Her mantra must be that age-old adage, “less is more.”

As a mother of two, Princess Letizia probably has to play it safe most of the time. That’s precisely why her safe choice of solid colour suits – usually neutrals such as navy blue, taupe, and black – work so well. She still looks like someone’s mum, but a fashion-forward mum at that.

Do you want a really good hair day? You can easily achieve that with a ghd straightener, but which one do you choose? There are many ghd straighteners to choose from, with one of the best selling models being the ghd 4.3b. Therefore, you may be asking “When did ghd 4.3b come out?”

The company has been producing hair straighteners for over a decade and the ghd 4.3b is one of the most popular models. The revolutionary hair styling tools are always pushing the envelope of hair styling. As technology advances, the design of each ghd model does as well. This is why there are so many variations of the ghd straightner, each one with its own specialties.

When you buy a ghd 4.3b, or any other ghd styler, you are bound to be getting the best in hair styling technology. The ceramic heaters on each straightener are designed to protect the hair, yet style it effectively with high heat. The company backs its stylers with a guarantee.

So, whatever your hair type, the ghd 4.3b is a great solution for you. This straightener will work whether you have long, flowing tresses or short, lovely locks. That means you won’t have to invest in a new ghd styler if you decide to change the length of your hair.

If you want to get your very own ghd 4.3b styler, take a look at the company’s official website for additional advice. Remember, the ghd guarantee is only honoured if you purchase your styler from an approved salon, approved retailer, or directly from ghd.
